Rendezvous:     At all the Rendezvous we will be demonstrating how to make brooms and buckets. 
                         We also have a large supply of handcrafted brooms and buckets for sale.

Coopering Tools 455  October 14-15, 2010  9:00am - 5:00pm.   
                         
Many of the specialty tools of the cooper are hard to find, new or used.  Learn to make your own tool using
                          basic blacksmithing and machining skills.  Location:  Tillers International, Scotts, Minnesota.
                         
Home herbals    148  October 15, 2010   9:00am to 5:00pm  
                         
Learn to grow, harvest, prepare, and use herbs including comfrey, yarrow, cayenne pepper, elderberry,
                          red raspberry, plantain, garlic, and lemon balm.  Learn about herbal teas, poultices and tinctures--many
                          of the old healing methods and how hey are still effective today.  Identify sources of these healers using
                          wild crafting or home cultivating.  Location:  Tillers International,  Scotts, Minnesota.

Coopering Butterchurns  446  October 16-17, 2010   9:00am - 5:00pm 
                          This butterchurn design is a graceful and classic coopered vessel.  In this class you split and shape staves                                        and form the churn.  Then stave and shape the dasher and cover.  Those who have taken coopering 445
                          can build on their techniques and skills.  Build a beautiful and useful addition to your kitchen collection.

Needle Arts   190   October 16-17, 2010   9:00am - 5:00pm.  
                          Pam Francis will teach skills of knitting and crochet, crafts that were common to most homemakers in the past
                          and still hold charming appeal today.  Join us for two days of fun and creativity.  Bring you own needles or use
                          ours.  Location Tillers International,  Scotts, Minnesota.

Appalachian Broom Making  183    October 20-22, 2010  9:00am - 5:00pm  
                          In Tillers' broom classes, take a traditional skill to a new artistic level.  Make round, cobweb, sweepers and
                          more.  Learn broom handle selection, preparation, and surface finishing.  Build a foot treadle to tying and
                          needles for stitching.  This class will prepare you with skills and equipment to make brooms on your own.
                          All skill levels welcome.  Location:  Tillers International, Scotts, Minnesota.

Appalachian Art Broom  184    October 23-24, 2010  9:00am - 5:00pm  
                          Expand your broommaking skills to include creative, artistic forms.  Experiment with more complex tying
                          of artistic forms, learning problem solving skills to enable you to practice advanced tying on your
                          own.  Prerequisite: Appalachian Brrom Making - 183 or equivalent hand tying and stitching experience.
                          Location:  Tillers International, Scotts, Minnesota.
                        

Coopering Barrels 448   October 26-30, 2010  9:00am - 5:00pm.    
                          This class is an exciting addition that extends the skills of white coopering students.  Water-tight
                          coopering is on e of the most difficult forms of coopering.  Students learn to make bent staves and
                          assemble them into traditional barrels.

                         Learn sustainable practices such as broom making, coopering, needle arts, and home herbals.
                         Our workshops will teach you the skills you need to be able to go home and produce more of the same.  Use
                         your newly acquired skills to make things for your home or gifts for family and friends.  Trade or swap your
                         products for other item you have wanted with out the use of money.

Educational
Classes: 
          We will come to your school or historical events and put on demonstrations, re-enactments, in period dress.
                        General Assemblies:  $350 first hour presentation, $200 for each additional hour.
                        Class Workshops:      $100 per hour,  up to 35 attendees.

                        We include story telling and broom making history.  We emphasis the importance of keeping history alive and
                        how important families are.  We also include our own family history about brooms and coopering.
